Strange text message

I and two other family members received the following text message a little while ago:

From: 5001@vtext.com (First National Alert Call 8568741255 For Details)

I figure it is from a spammer but did not find anything obvious from a Google search. However, I did find that the phone number is listed as the Fax number for CPI Capital in Voorhees, New Jersey.

"vtext.com" is a text messaging service provided by Verizon Wireless.

Missed cell phone call from 23987

I had a missed cell phone call at 11:12 am today from 23987. No idea who it was from. I am assuming it was a telemarketer of some sort. I tried to Google the number but did not find anything obvious.

Gmail Team :: Information needed.....

Back on December 28th, I received an obvious spam email from the "Gmail Team." I marked it as spam and, since then, have seen several variants appear in my Spam folder.

Today I received another that was not marked as spam...

Once again, I have reported the email as a phishing attack.

Gmail Team :: New Account...

I received an interesting email to my Gmail account earlier today. I would have thought that Gmail's spam filters would have caught it because it is clearly a phishing attempt...

I have reported the email as a phishing attack.

503-457-1274 "HOME SECURITY G"

I continue to get calls from home security telemarketers. The number 503-457-1274 shows up in my caller ID as "HOME SECURITY G".

I have had 5 calls in the last four days...
- 12/6 1:31 PM
- 12/7 11:53 AM
- 12/7 7:19 PM
- 12/8 2:30 PM
- 12/9 11:42 AM

And this is inspite of the fact that my home phone number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry.

Hi this is Tom with Home Protection ...

And so the message on the answering machine was "Hi this is Tom with Home Protection, how are you today? This is Tom with Home Protection, how are you? Hello? Are you there?"

The call came from 740-205-1734 and my caller ID displayed "LANCASTER OH". This was at 5:25 pm.

A quick Google search revealed what I thought, this is an unscrupulous telemarketer.

I also discovered that this company was responsible for several missed calls over the past 24 hours...

We have been getting calls from those numbers several times a day for many days now.

I hope that whoever is behind this is put in jail!
